It also has the last services like gas and food before you reach the Furnace Creek area inside the park.
You'll find a post office, gas station, restaurant, and coffee shop just north of where California State Routes 127 and 178 cross. Shoshone also has a small airstrip, about 2,380-foot (730 m) long, right across from the main shops. It's open to the public and has about 58 flights each month.
Shoshone, California, has a past as a railroad town and a rich mining area.
