Silver Lake (also known as French: lac Silver in French) is a beautiful lake located in Eastern Ontario, Canada. All the water from Silver Lake eventually flows into the Ottawa River.

Discovering Silver Lake's Location
Silver Lake is a good-sized lake, covering about 248.98 hectares (615 acres) of water. It sits at an elevation of 178 metres (584 ft) above sea level. The lake is about 4.1 kilometres (2.5 mi) long and .8 kilometres (0.50 mi) wide.
Most of the lake, about two-thirds of it, is in Central Frontenac. The other third is in Tay Valley. A major road, Ontario Highway 7, runs along the southern edge of the lake. This highway connects to nearby small communities.
Nearby Communities
- The community of Maberly is about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) east of the lake along Highway 7.
- Zealand is another small community located northwest of the lake.
- The closest larger town is Perth, which is about 30 kilometres (19 mi) east along Highway 7.
Water Flow and Connections
Silver Lake has one main stream that flows into it, called Wesleys Creek. There are also a few smaller, unnamed streams that feed the lake.
The water leaves Silver Lake from its eastern end through Silver Lake Creek. This creek then flows into the Fall River. The Fall River then joins the Mississippi River, which eventually reaches Lac des Chats on the Ottawa River. This shows how Silver Lake is connected to a much larger water system!
