Snoqualmie Mountain is a very tall mountain in the Cascade Range of Washington state, U.S.. It stands as the highest peak right around Snoqualmie Pass. People sometimes describe its shape as "blob-like" because it doesn't have sharp, pointy edges. However, one side of the mountain, the north face, drops very steeply down to the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. The top of Snoqualmie Mountain is also part of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, a special protected area.

How to Reach the Top
One popular way to climb Snoqualmie Mountain is by following its south ridge. This path starts from a place called Cave Ridge, which is located between Snoqualmie Peak and Guye Peak. This route is considered a non-technical hike, meaning you don't need special climbing gear like ropes or harnesses. It's more like a long, challenging walk.
Starting Your Hike
To get to Cave Ridge, you have a couple of options. You can start from the west, near a place called Alpental. Look for the area just south of the Snow Lake trailhead, which is where many hiking paths begin. Another way is to start from the east, in the Commonwealth Basin. No matter which way you choose, plan for your hike to the very top to take about four hours.
First Climbers
The first person known to have climbed Snoqualmie Mountain was a man named Albert H. Sylvester. He made his way to the summit a long time ago, either in 1897 or 1898. Imagine being one of the first people to stand on top of such a grand mountain!
