The Solomon Islands is a country that loves sports! They first joined the exciting Olympic Games in 1984. Since then, athletes from the Solomon Islands have competed in every Summer Olympics. These games are also known as the Games of the Olympiad.
Even though they have sent athletes to many Olympic Games, the Solomon Islands has not yet won an Olympic medal. They have also never taken part in the Winter Olympic Games. The group that helps Solomon Islands athletes get to the Olympics is called the National Olympic Committee for Solomon Islands. It was started in 1983. The International Olympic Committee officially recognized it in the same year.
