Spaulding Mountain is found in Franklin County, Maine, in the United States. It's surrounded by other well-known mountains. To its northeast, you'll find Sugarloaf Mountain. To the southeast, there's Mount Abraham. These mountains are all part of the beautiful Maine landscape.

Water Flowing from the Mountain

Water from Spaulding Mountain flows in different directions. The northeast and south sides of the mountain drain into Rapid Stream. This stream then joins the West Branch of the Carrabassett River. From there, the water flows into the Kennebec River and finally reaches the Gulf of Maine. The west side of Spaulding Mountain sends its water into the South Branch of the Carrabassett River.

The Appalachian Trail

The famous Appalachian Trail crosses Spaulding Mountain. This trail is a very long path, about 2,170 mi (3,490 km) long. It stretches all the way from Georgia to Maine. When hikers walk the Appalachian Trail over Spaulding Mountain, they pass about 150 ft (46 m) below the very top of the mountain. It's a popular spot for adventurers!
