Stamford is found in the southwestern part of Vermont. It sits right on the border with Massachusetts. To the south, you'll find the towns of Clarksburg and Florida, Massachusetts.
Other towns around Stamford include Pownal to the west, Readsboro to the east, and Woodford to the north. The small village of Stamford is in the southern part of the town. It is located in a valley near the North Branch of the Hoosic River.
