Geography of Pickford Township
Pickford Township is found in the southeastern part of Chippewa County. This area is on Michigan's Upper Peninsula. To the south, it shares a border with Mackinac County.
A part of the township stretches into Munuscong Lake. This is a large bay that connects to the St. Marys River. The Munuscong River flows through the middle of the township. It passes by the small communities of Pickford, Stirlingville, and Kelden before reaching Munuscong Lake.
The total area of the township is about 309.5 square kilometers (119.5 square miles). Most of this area, 280.4 square kilometers (108.3 square miles), is land. The rest, 29.2 square kilometers (11.3 square miles), is water.
