Syens is a small town, also called a municipality, located in Switzerland. It is part of the Broye-Vully area in the canton of Vaud.

Syens is quite old! The first time anyone wrote about Syens was in the year 1018. Back then, it was called Ciens.

Syens covers an area of about 2.5 square kilometers (about 1 square mile). A big part of this land, over half (55.2%), is used for farming. This means people grow crops or have pastures for animals.

About one-third (33.3%) of Syens is covered by forests. The rest of the land (11.1%) has buildings and roads. So, you can see Syens has a lot of nature around it!

The town is located south of Moudon. It includes the main village of Syens and a smaller area called Bressonnaz. Syens used to be part of the Moudon District until 2006, when it joined the new Broye-Vully district.
