Rising Star in Domestic Cricket

In the 2012 ICC Under-19 World Cup, Taskin was Bangladesh's top wicket-taker. He got 11 wickets in total. In 2013, during the BPL 2, he became "man of the match" in a semi-final game. He took 4 wickets for 31 runs. This was a big moment for his career.

In BPL 3, Taskin played for Chittagong Vikings. He became one of the most searched people in Bangladesh on Google that year. In October 2018, he joined the Sylhet Sixers team. He was their best wicket-taker, getting 22 wickets in 12 matches. In November 2019, he played for the Rangpur Rangers.

International Cricket Career

First Steps (2014-2015)

Taskin got his chance to play for the national team when another player was injured. He played his first T20 International (T20I) game on April 1, 2014. In that game, he took the wicket of Glenn Maxwell.

On June 17, 2014, he made his ODI debut against India. He took 5 wickets in that match. This made him the first Bangladeshi bowler to achieve this on an ODI debut.

Taskin was chosen for Bangladesh's team in the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He played very well in the group stage. He took wickets against Afghanistan, Scotland, and England. These wickets helped Bangladesh reach the quarter-finals. In the quarter-final against India, he took three more wickets. He was Bangladesh's top wicket-taker in that World Cup. His special "Chest-bump" celebration with Mashrafe after taking wickets became famous.

Key Contributions (2015-2016)

Taskin helped Bangladesh win against Pakistan in April 2015. He also played a big part in their win against India in June 2015.

Challenges and Comeback (2016-2018)

In 2016, Taskin was part of Bangladesh's team for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20. However, he was later stopped from bowling in international games. This was because his bowling action was found to be against the rules.

Taskin made his Test debut for Bangladesh on January 12, 2017. This was against New Zealand. He got his first Test wicket by dismissing Kane Williamson.

Recent Achievements (2021-2025)

In June 2021, Taskin was selected for Bangladesh's team for their tour to Zimbabwe. In the Test match against Zimbabwe, he scored 75 runs. This was his first half-century in Test cricket. He and Mahmudullah made a huge partnership of 191 runs. This was the second-highest partnership for the ninth wicket in Test cricket history. Taskin's 75 runs were also the highest score by a Bangladeshi number 10 batsman in an away match.

In September 2021, he was chosen for Bangladesh's team for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In the 2022 T20 World Cup, he took 8 wickets in 5 matches. This made him Bangladesh's top wicket-taker in that tournament.

In March 2023, Taskin played against Ireland. He took 4 wickets for only 16 runs in a T20 game. This was his best T20I bowling performance. In September 2023, he was picked for Bangladesh's team for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

In May 2024, he was named in Bangladesh's team for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. On January 12, 2025, he was also selected for Bangladesh's team for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
