Tequesta is a small village in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It's the northernmost town in the Miami metropolitan area. In 2020, about 6,158 people lived there.

A Look at Tequesta's History
Tequesta was started in the 1950s. It was planned as a community built around the Tequesta Country Club. The village got its name from the Tequesta people. They were the original Native American group who lived in this area long ago. Tequesta officially became a village in 1957.
Where is Tequesta Located?
The Village of Tequesta is located at 26°57′39″N 80°5′48″W / 26.96083°N 80.09667°W. This means it's in a specific spot on the map.
The village covers about 2.2 square miles (5.7 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, about 1.8 square miles (4.5 square kilometers). The rest, about 0.5 square miles (1.2 square kilometers), is water.
Most of Tequesta is on the mainland. But some parts of the village are on Jupiter Island. This island is partly in Martin County. Small sections are also found north and south of Coral Cove Park.
Traveling to Tequesta
If you're coming from the south or east, you'll need to cross a bridge to get to Tequesta. The Jupiter Federal Bridge is being updated. It will be closed for about 20 months starting in March 2023.
The new bridge will have two lanes for cars in each direction. It will also have special lanes for bicycles and wide sidewalks. The new bridge will be taller, allowing bigger boats to pass underneath easily.

The Village of Tequesta has one private Christian elementary school called Good Shepherd Episcopal School. It teaches students from Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade. There are also two Christian preschools.
For public school, students living in Tequesta go to schools in the nearby town of Jupiter. These include Limestone Creek Elementary, Jupiter Elementary, Jupiter Middle School, and Jupiter Community High School. If a student lives in the Martin County part of Tequesta, they would go to Hobe Sound Elementary, Murray Middle School, and South Fork High School.

Tequesta is the official home for WPBF, which is the local ABC TV channel for West Palm Beach. Even though Tequesta is its official home, the TV station's main offices are not actually in the village.
