On March 18, 2000, Tereza Maxová married Danish tennis player Frederik Fetterlein. Later that year, in September 2000, she gave birth to their son, Tobias Joshua Fetterlein. After their marriage ended, Tereza moved to Monaco. There, she started a new life with her partner, Burak Öymen. Burak is a businessman from Turkey and the son of a Turkish diplomat and politician, Onur Öymen.
Tereza and Burak have two children together. Their daughter, Mína Öymen Maxová, was born in May 2009 in Prague. Their son, Aiden Öymen Max, was born in September 2011. Tereza and Burak got married in October 2016 in Didim, Turkey.
