Terrance Jamar Gore (born June 8, 1991) is an American former professional baseball player. He played as an outfielder. Terrance Gore played college baseball at Gulf Coast Community College. He started his career in Major League Baseball (MLB) in 2014. His first team was the Kansas City Royals. He also played for the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and New York Mets.
Gore was known as one of the fastest players in baseball. He was mostly used as a pinch runner. This means he would enter the game to run the bases for another player. Teams often added Gore to their rosters late in the season. This was especially true for teams hoping to win a championship. He was part of a championship team three times. These teams were the Royals in 2015, the Dodgers in 2020, and the Braves in 2021.

Early Life and College Baseball
Terrance Gore grew up in Macon, Georgia. He went to Jones County High School in Gray, Georgia. There, he was a star in both baseball and football. In football, he played as a running back and wide receiver. During his last year, he ran for over 1,000 yards. He averaged more than nine yards every time he carried the ball.
In baseball, Gore was also amazing. Over his four years at the school, he stole 145 bases. In his senior year, he hit for a .474 average. After high school, Gore chose to play baseball. He went to Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida. He turned down football scholarships from big universities. Gore played one season at Gulf Coast. He hit .330 and stole 51 bases out of 54 tries.
Professional Baseball Career
Starting with the Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals picked Terrance Gore in the 20th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft. This was after he played at Gulf Coast Community College.
In 2014, Gore thought about quitting baseball. He was starting a family and felt his career wasn't moving fast enough. But his agent and a Royals coach encouraged him to keep playing. In August, the Royals moved him to a higher team. This was the Omaha Storm Chasers. His main job there was to be a pinch runner and steal bases. On August 31, 2014, Gore joined the Royals in the major leagues. He was one of the few players in MLB history to wear the number 0. He was mainly used to run the bases for other players.
Gore was on the Royals' team for the playoffs in 2015. He was on the roster for the ALDS and ALCS. However, he was not on the team for the World Series. Even so, he still received his first World Series ring. After the 2017 season, he left the Royals. But he signed a new contract with them the very next day.
Playing for the Chicago Cubs
On August 15, 2018, Gore was traded to the Chicago Cubs. He was sent to their Triple-A team, the Iowa Cubs. On September 1, he was called up to the major leagues. On September 8, he got his first major league hit. This was against Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer. After the season, Gore became a free agent.
Back with the Kansas City Royals
On December 18, 2018, Terrance Gore signed a one-year contract. This brought him back to the Royals. He played well, hitting .275 and stealing 13 bases. But on July 12, 2019, the Royals decided to let him go.
Time with the New York Yankees
On July 17, 2019, Gore was traded to the New York Yankees. He then played for their Triple-A team. He hit .164 for them. After the season, he became a free agent again.
Joining the Los Angeles Dodgers
On February 17, 2020, Gore signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was on their team for Opening Day. Gore played in two games for the Dodgers. He was a defensive replacement and a pinch runner. On September 30, Gore was added to the team for the playoffs. He was on the roster for the Wild Card Series and the Division Series. The manager, Dave Roberts, said Gore's speed was very important.
Gore did not play in any games during the 2020 playoffs. He was not on the team for the NLCS or the World Series. But the Dodgers won the World Series. So, Gore still received a championship ring. This was his second World Series ring. After the season, he became a free agent.
Winning with the Atlanta Braves
On February 25, 2021, Gore signed a contract with the Atlanta Braves. He played for their Triple-A team, the Gwinnett Stripers. He hit .232 and stole 18 bases.
On October 8, 2021, Gore was named to the Braves' playoff roster. He was on the team for the NLDS. He appeared once as a pinch runner. He was not on the roster for the NLCS. But he returned for the World Series roster. He did not play in any World Series games. The Braves won the 2021 World Series. This was their first title since 1995. It was Gore's second straight ring and third in seven years. After the season, he became a free agent.
Last Stop with the New York Mets
On June 6, 2022, Gore signed a contract with the New York Mets. He was called up to the main team on August 31. On November 10, he was removed from the team. He became a free agent the same day.
