Early Life and Sports Talent

Terrance Gore grew up in Macon, Georgia. He went to Jones County High School in Gray, Georgia. There, he was a star in both baseball and football. In football, he played as a running back and wide receiver. During his last year, he ran for over 1,000 yards!

In baseball, Terrance was just as impressive. Over his four years, he stole 145 bases. In his senior year, he hit for a fantastic .474 batting average. After high school, Terrance went to Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida. He even turned down football scholarships from big schools like the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech to play baseball. In his one season at Gulf Coast, he hit .330 and stole 51 bases out of 54 tries. That's super fast!

Professional Baseball Journey

Joining the Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals noticed Terrance's talent and picked him in the 20th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. He started his professional journey in their minor league system.

In 2014, Terrance felt a bit discouraged about his progress. He was thinking about leaving baseball. However, his agent and a special assistant for the Royals encouraged him to keep going. Soon after, he was moved up to a higher minor league team, the Omaha Storm Chasers. His main job there was to focus on pinch-running and stealing bases.

On August 31, 2014, Terrance Gore made it to the big leagues with the Kansas City Royals! He was one of the few players in MLB history to wear the number 0. He was mostly used as a special pinch runner. In the major leagues, he stole 5 bases out of 5 attempts. He even played for the Royals during the 2014 MLB postseason.
