The Exclusives are a team of American and Canadian songwriters and music producers. The group includes Sean "Pen" McMillion and Ralph "Vintage" Jeanty. They started in Miami, Florida, and were first known as Move Sumthin' Productions. Now based in Atlanta, they are famous for helping create hit songs in R&B, pop, and hip hop.

The team's first major hit was co-writing the song "I Luv This ..." for the singer August Alsina. The song was very popular and sold over a million copies, which is called a "platinum" single.

Music Career

Early Work

The Exclusives started their journey by writing and producing songs for other artists. One of their early projects was the song "Never Window Shopping" for the singer Lloyd. The song was on his album King of Hearts.

Working with Music Legends

The duo got to work with the famous R&B singer Betty Wright. She became a mentor to them. Together, they worked with the band The Roots on the album Betty Wright: The Movie, which came out in 2011. The Exclusives co-wrote two songs for the album: "Real Woman," which featured Snoop Dogg, and "Baby Come Back," which featured Lenny Williams.

This project led to another chance to work with The Roots on their album Undun. The Exclusives co-wrote the song "The Other Side" for this album. Undun was a success and reached number 17 on the Billboard 200 music chart.

Breakthrough Hit with August Alsina

In 2011, The Exclusives met a new artist named August Alsina. A year later, they recorded the song "I Luv This ...". The song became a huge success in 2013. It was number one on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop chart for two weeks.

This hit song reached number 48 on the famous Billboard Hot 100 chart. Because it sold so many copies, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified it as "gold" in March 2014 and later "platinum" in October 2014.

In August 2014, The Exclusives signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music. This is a major step for songwriters, as it helps manage their music and get it to a wider audience.
