The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck is a comic book series. It was written and drawn by Don Rosa. To create this amazing story, Rosa carefully studied the older comics by Carl Barks. He wanted to include all the important moments from Scrooge's exciting fictional life.

Chapters of Scrooge's Life

This comic book series has 12 main parts. Each part tells a different adventure from Scrooge McDuck's life.

The Last of the Clan McDuck

This story takes place between 1877 and 1880. As a young duck, Scrooge has problems with the Whiskervilles. He earns his very first coin, which he calls his Number One Dime. After this, he travels to the United States on a cattle boat.

The Master of the Mississippi

This part of the story happens between 1880 and 1882. Scrooge works for his Uncle Angus "Pothole" McDuck. He also meets the famous villains, Blackheart Beagle and his sons, who are known as the Beagle Boys.

The Buckaroo of the Badlands

This chapter is set between 1882 and 1883. Scrooge becomes a cowboy! He has to get back a special bull for his boss, Murdo MacKenzie. During this adventure, he meets Theodore Roosevelt, who later becomes a President. Scrooge even suggests that Roosevelt should get into politics.

Raider of the Copper Hill

This story takes place from 1883 to 1885. Scrooge learns how to look for valuable minerals from Howard Rockerduck. He almost takes control of the Anaconda Copper Mine in Butte, Montana, from Marcus Daly.

The New Laird of Castle Mcduck

This chapter is set in 1885. Scrooge goes back to Scotland. He needs to save Castle McDuck from being bought by the Whiskervilles, who are still causing trouble.

The Terror of the Transvaal

This part of the story happens between 1886 and 1889. Scrooge travels to the South African Republic. Here, he first meets Flintheart Glomgold, another very rich duck.

Dreamtime Duck of the Never Never

This story takes place between 1893 and 1896. Scrooge goes to Australia. While there, he learns about the special beliefs of the Dreamtime.

King of the Klondike

This chapter is set between 1896 and 1897. Scrooge finally reaches the Yukon in Canada. He takes part in the exciting Klondike Gold Rush and finds a lot of gold. But first, he is kidnapped by a tricky person named Soapy Slick.

The Billionaire of Dismal Downs

This story takes place between 1898 and 1902. After becoming a billionaire, Scrooge returns to Scotland. However, he realizes that he doesn't quite fit in there anymore.

The Invader of Fort Duckburg

This chapter is set in 1902. Scrooge and his sisters move to Duckburg, Calisota, in the US. They meet the Duck family and the first three members of The Junior Woodchucks. Scrooge also has another encounter with the Beagle Boys, and he meets President Theodore Roosevelt again.

The Empire-Builder from Calisota

This story happens between 1902 and 1930. Scrooge travels all over the world, making many business deals. He faces a challenge from a sorcerer named Foola Zoola, who places a magical problem on him. Scrooge returns to Duckburg and meets his ten-year-old nephew Donald Duck and his twin sister Della Thelma Duck. On this same day, he loses touch with his family and becomes the richest duck in the world.

The Richest Duck in the World

This final chapter takes place in 1947. After 17 years without seeing his family, Scrooge invites Donald and Huey, Dewey and Louie for Christmas dinner. He shows them his huge money bin. The new generation of Beagle Boys also show up to cause some trouble.
