Three Delivery (also known as Chop Suey Trio) is an animated TV show from Canada and the United States. It's inspired by exciting kung-fu movies! Larry Schwarz created the show. He also made other cartoons like Kappa Mikey and Speed Racer: The Next Generation.
The show was made by two companies: Animation Collective in New York and Fatkat in Canada. Three Delivery was their last project together. It first aired on Nicktoons in the U.S. and YTV in Canada on June 27, 2008. Before that, a special episode was shown at the New York Comic Con on April 19, 2008. The show also played on CBBC in the UK and Once TV in Mexico.

What the Show is About
Years ago, a bad student named Kong Li found a magical cookbook. He used its power to spread dangerous recipes all over Chinatown. To keep the magic from escaping, an old spell put a force field around the city. This protected the rest of the world for many years.
But now, Kong Li is back! He wants to find all the powerful recipes. If he gets them, their evil magic will be set free, and the whole world will be in danger.
Luckily, three brave teenage heroes are ready to stop him. They are skilled in kung-fu. These orphans, Sue, Sid, and Tobey, were hired by Nana to deliver food for Wu’s Garden Chinese restaurant. They thought it was just a way to leave the orphanage and ride cool bikes. But they soon learned they would be fighting evil to save the world! Besides their normal teenage problems, these heroes must find every magic recipe. They also need to stop Kong Li for good.
Meet the Characters
- Sue Yee (Stephanie Sheh): Sue is a strong girl who cares a lot about her friends and family. She and her older brother Sid sometimes argue, but they always protect each other. Sue secretly likes Barney.
- Tobey Li (Robby Duncan Sharpe): Tobey has a big heart and a great sense of humor, even though he has a tough past. He loves being a superhero and will always protect his friends.
- Sid Yee (Johnny Yong Bosch): Sid is calm and smart. He loves music. He is Sue's older brother and takes his job of protecting Chinatown very seriously.
- Nana (Nancy Wu): Nana is a kind but tough old lady. She guards the magic cookbook and is very good at fighting Kong Li. She knows a lot about both magic and martial arts. Nana takes in Sue, Sid, and Tobey and trains them to defend Chinatown. Her real name is Mei Wa, and she is Mr. Wu's mother and Barney's grandmother.
- Mr. Calvin Wu (Michael Alston Baley): He is the proud owner of Wu's Garden Restaurant. Sue, Sid, and Tobey work for him as delivery people. Mr. Wu often yells at his employees for being lazy and makes them try his strange new recipes. But deep down, he has a good heart.
- Barney Wu (David Chen): Barney is Calvin's son. He often seems lost in thought or busy with chores. He doesn't even notice that Tobey, Sid, and Sue are protecting Chinatown! Like his dad, he has odd ideas but a good heart.
- Kong Li (Lex Woutas): Kong Li used to be a martial arts student. Now, he is a mean and ambitious magician. He will do anything to get the magic cookbook. For now, he is stuck inside the barrier around Chinatown.
- Eugene (Jamie McGonnigal): Eugene is Sue, Sid, and Tobey's friend and classmate. He is a science whiz.
How the Show Was Made
Animation Collective worked with FatKat to make the show's animation smooth and traditional. This style is not always seen in shows made with Flash. Even the backgrounds were painted using Flash. Larry Schwarz said he was interested in the show's idea because he used to live near Manhattan's Chinatown. He wanted the show to reflect some of his own experiences.
To promote the show, the studio first made 11 short, two-minute adventures for mobile phones in 2007. This also helped them practice working with the new characters before the full series. Three of these shorts first aired on May 2, 2007, on Nicktoons Network. They were shown during commercials for Speed Racer: The Next Generation. Some of the shorts were named after fortune cookie messages, like "A Silver Tongue is fine, but Silence is Golden." The other eight shorts were planned to be shown in 2009.
