About Toby Anstis
Early Life and Education
Toby Anstis was born in Northampton, England. He went to Desborough School in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Later, he studied psychology and business at the University of Surrey Roehampton.
Toby and his twin sister were adopted when they were children. He met his birth parents when he was an adult. Toby has said he was very lucky to have such good adoptive parents.
Toby's Career in TV and Radio
Toby Anstis started his career on BBC1's "Broom Cupboard." This was a popular children's TV show. He was the very last presenter for that show. He also spent three years working for BBC Children's TV.
He worked on a music show called The O-Zone on BBC1 and BBC2. Toby also helped host Children in Need for two years. This is a big charity event in the UK. He also presented special cricket films for Grandstand. Plus, he hosted live shows for National Lottery Live on the BBC.
In 2006, Toby was a contestant on the reality show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! He was the first celebrity to leave that season.
Music and Charity Work
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Toby joined a music group called The Celebs. Famous people like Frank Bruno and Sam Bailey were also in the group. They recorded a new version of "Merry Christmas Everyone." This song helped raise money for two important charities. These were the Alzheimer's Society and Action for Children. The song was released online in December 2020.
In 2024, it was announced that Toby Anstis would be a main performer. He was set to headline the "Big 90's vs 00's festival." This event took place in Canvey Island, Essex. His show was called "Relight the 90's."
