Patricia Lynn Yearwood (born September 19, 1964) is a famous American country singer. She became well-known in 1991 with her first song "She's in Love with the Boy". This song became a number one hit on the country music charts. Her first album, also called Trisha Yearwood, sold over two million copies!

Trisha continued to have many big country hits in the 1990s. Some of these include "Walkaway Joe" (1992), "The Song Remembers When" (1993), and "How Do I Live" (1997). Her album (Songbook) A Collection of Hits (1997) sold four million copies.

Later, Trisha Yearwood took a break from music to work on other exciting projects. She wrote three popular cookbooks that became bestsellers. In 2012, she started her own cooking show on the Food Network called Trisha's Southern Kitchen. This show even won a Daytime Emmy Award!

Early Life and Music Start

Trisha Yearwood was born in Monticello, Georgia. Her mother, Gwendolyn, was a schoolteacher, and her father, Jack, was a banker. From a young age, Trisha loved music. She sang in school talent shows, church events, and musicals.

After high school, Trisha studied business at Young Harris College. She then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1985 to study music. She got an internship at MTM Records and later worked there full-time. She recorded demo tapes and sang backup for new artists. One of these artists was Garth Brooks. In 1990, she sang backup on Garth Brooks' album No Fences. A producer from MCA Records, Tony Brown, heard her sing and was very impressed. He helped her sign a record deal with MCA. After signing, she opened for Garth Brooks on his 1991 tour.

Starting Strong in the 1990s

Trisha Yearwood's first album came out in 1991. Her first song, "She's in Love with the Boy", quickly became a number one hit. This made her very famous. Three more songs from her first album also became top ten hits: "Like We Never Had a Broken Heart," "The Woman Before Me", and "That's What I Like About You." Her first album sold over two million copies! Trisha was the first female country artist to sell a million copies of her first album.

Critics loved her first album, calling it "classy" and praising her "technical and emotional authority." Because of her success, Trisha won several awards. In 1991, she was named Top New Female Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music. In 1992, she was voted Favorite New Country Artist at the American Music Awards.

Trisha also became the spokesperson for a perfume called WildHeart by Revlon. She showed that she was strong and stood up for herself during the commercial filming.

Growing as an Artist: 1992-1996

In 1992, Trisha released her second album, Hearts in Armor. This album was different because it had more emotional songs. Many of these songs were about feelings after her first marriage ended. The album included songs with other famous singers like Don Henley and Emmylou Harris. Critics loved this album, calling it "stunning" and "one of the best heartbreak records."

The first two songs from Hearts in Armor, "Wrong Side of Memphis" and "Walkaway Joe", were top ten hits. This album also sold over one million copies.

The album included three new songs. "How Do I Live" was the first new song and was also in the movie Con Air. It became a huge hit, reaching number two on the country chart and number 23 on the main pop chart. This album also featured "In Another's Eyes" (a duet with Garth Brooks) and "Perfect Love", which became a number one hit. Songbook is Trisha's best-selling album, selling four million copies! She won many awards for this album, including more Grammys.

In 1998, Trisha released her next album, Where Your Road Leads. Songs like "There Goes My Baby" and "Powerful Thing" became top ten hits. She also sang with Luciano Pavarotti to help children in Liberia. In 1999, she became a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a very special honor in country music.

After her second marriage ended, Trisha released Real Live Woman in 2000. This album also showed her emotions. Critics praised it, and it sold 500,000 copies. In 2001, she released Inside Out, which included songs with Don Henley and Vince Gill. The song "I Would've Loved You Anyway" reached number four on the country chart.

New Directions and Cooking Shows: 2002-2016

After her 2001 album, Trisha spent time with her family and started a relationship with Garth Brooks. In 2005, she released Jasper County, named after the county in Georgia where she grew up. This album was a big success, reaching number one on the country album charts and selling 117,000 copies in its first week! The song "Georgia Rain" became a top 15 hit.
