When he was young, his family found a small bronze axe near a hot spring. This led them to name him Khürelsükh, which means 'bronze axe'. He has an older brother, an older sister, and two younger brothers.
School and University
Khürelsükh finished Secondary School No. 2 in 1985. He then went to the University of Defense, graduating in 1989 with a degree in political studies. He also studied public administration and law at the National University of Mongolia. He finished these studies in 1994 and 2000.
Military Service

Political Journey
Khürelsükh began his political career in the early 1990s. He worked for the Central Committee of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party. He was one of the youngest officers there.
He became an adviser for the party's group in parliament in 1994. Later, he became the general director of the Youth Development Center for the party. This led him to start the Mongolian Democratic Socialist Youth Federation (MDSYF) in 1997. He led this group until 2005.
In the 1990s, Khürelsükh became well-known for organizing protests and hunger strikes. These actions were against the political situation at that time.
