Union Grove is a small town in Marshall County, Alabama, in the United States. It is part of the larger Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. In 2020, the town had a population of 67 people. This number was a little lower than the 77 people counted in the 2010 census.

The town got its name during the American Civil War. Union soldiers camped here for a while after passing through a place called Parches Cove. Because of this, the area became known as Union Grove.

Geography and Location

Union Grove is located in the western part of Marshall County. You can find it at these coordinates: 34°24′0″N 86°26′46″W / 34.40000°N 86.44611°W / 34.40000; -86.44611. It is about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Arab. It is also about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of the Guntersville Dam on the Tennessee River.

The town sits on top of Brindley Mountain, which is a fairly flat area. This mountain is near the southwest end of the Appalachian Plateau. Union Grove is about 1,040 feet (317 meters) above sea level. The Arab Electric Cooperative provides electricity to Union Grove. This power comes from the Tennessee Valley Authority.
