Valenzano Winery is a large winery located in Shamong, New Jersey. It is owned by the Valenzano family. Before becoming a winery, the land was a family farm. They grew grain and raised livestock starting in 1974.
The family began planting vineyards in 1991. The winery officially opened its doors to visitors in 1996. Today, Valenzano Winery is one of the biggest wine producers in New Jersey. They grow grapes on 88 acres of land. Each year, they produce about 80,000 cases of wine.
Types of Wines Produced
Valenzano Winery is part of a special grape-growing area called the Outer Coastal Plain AVA. This area is known for its good conditions for growing grapes.
The winery uses many different types of grapes to make their wines. Some of these include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot. They also use grapes like Concord and Niagara.
Besides grape wines, Valenzano Winery also makes fruit wines. These are made from fruits like apples, blueberries, cranberries, and peaches. They even make mead, which is a drink made from local honey.
