Valley is a city in Chambers County, Alabama, United States. It became a city in 1980. This happened when four textile mill villages joined together. These villages were Fairfax, Langdale, River View, and Shawmut.
In 2020, about 10,529 people lived in Valley. The city is on the western side of the Chattahoochee River. This river forms the border between Alabama and Georgia. Valley is part of a special program called the Alabama Communities of Excellence. This program helps communities plan for a better future. Valley is also part of the larger Greater Atlanta region.

Exploring Valley's Location
Valley is located in the southeastern part of Chambers County. Its exact spot is 32°48'40.993" North and 85°10'40.577" West. The city covers an area of about 28.6 square kilometers (11.0 square miles), and all of it is land.
The city sits right on the border between Alabama and Georgia. Interstate 85 passes through the northern edge of Valley. You can get on or off the interstate at exits 77 and 79. If you travel on I-85, Atlanta is about 135 kilometers (84 miles) northeast. Montgomery is about 127 kilometers (79 miles) southwest.
U.S. Route 29 also goes through Valley. This road connects Valley to Lanett and West Point, Georgia, to the north. It also leads southwest to Opelika, which is about 31 kilometers (19 miles) away.
Valley is part of a larger area called the "Greater Valley Area." This area includes Valley and two other big cities in Chambers County: Lanett and LaFayette. It also includes the city of West Point, Georgia.
