The Wallis and Futuna national football team (in French: Équipe de Wallis-et-Futuna de football) is the official football team for Wallis and Futuna. This team is not part of FIFA. This means they cannot play in big tournaments like the FIFA World Cup. They also can't play in the OFC Nations Cup.

The country has not invested much in sports. Because of this, the team has not played an international match in many years. Wallis and Futuna has played 24 international games in total. All these games were at the South Pacific Games. They played these games between 1966 and 1995. Their overall record is five wins and nineteen losses.

History of Wallis and Futuna Football

Early Games and Successes

In 1966, Wallis and Futuna decided to join the South Pacific Games. They played in the group stage. They lost their first game 5–0 to Tahiti. Their second game was a 9–1 loss to Papua New Guinea.

The team had their best results at the 1979 South Pacific Games. They won 3–1 against Western Samoa. This win helped them move to the knock-out stage. Before that, they lost 6–0 to Solomon Islands. In the quarter-finals, they lost 5–0 to Fiji. They then played in a Consolation Tournament. There, they were knocked out by Tonga with a 1–0 loss.

At the 1983 South Pacific Games, they lost their first game 3–0 to American Samoa. But they bounced back with two wins. They beat Western Samoa 2–1. They also won 3–0 against Tonga. These wins helped them finish first in their group. In the quarter-finals, they lost 4–0 to New Caledonia. This ended their journey in the competition.

Later Years and Inactivity

The 1987 South Pacific Games used a round-robin format. Wallis and Futuna lost four games. Their only win was a 5–1 victory against American Samoa. At the 1991 South Pacific Games, they lost all their group stage matches. They were defeated by Tahiti in the Consolation Tournament. This led them to the seventh-place playoff. There, they beat Guam 5–0.

The last time Wallis and Futuna played a game was in 1995. In that tournament, the team lost all four games they played. Since then, the team has not played any more matches.
