Warrane is a suburb located in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It's part of the City of Clarence area. Warrane is about 5 kilometers (3 miles) away from Hobart's main city center. You can find it between the suburbs of Rosny Park and Mornington, right next to the Tasman Highway.
It's mostly a place where people live, with houses and homes. For shopping and other services, residents usually go to nearby Rosny Park.
Warrane has several public places. These include Warrane Primary School, where younger kids learn. There's also the Clarence Campus of The Tasmanian Polytechnic and the Tasmanian Academy. These places offer education for older students. St. Peter's Lutheran Church is also located here.

A Look at Warrane's Past
The main Post Office in Warrane opened its doors on June 1, 1955. Before that, there was an earlier office. It was first called Montagu Bay when it opened in 1923. That same year, its name changed to Warrane. Then, in 1944, it went back to being called Montagu Bay. This older office closed down in 1951.
