Wayne Bergeron (born January 16, 1958) is a famous American trumpeter. He is known for his amazing trumpet playing in many movies and TV shows.

Wayne became well-known in the 1980s when he played in Maynard Ferguson's band. Since then, he has worked on more than 500 movie and TV soundtracks! He is great at playing both very high notes on the trumpet and many different styles of music. For example, you can hear his trumpet in the 2004 Disney/Pixar movie The Incredibles. He also played a special solo on the theme for the TV show Jeopardy!.

Today, Wayne Bergeron teaches music at the Los Angeles College of Music. He is also the main trumpet player for the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.

Wayne Bergeron's Early Life and Career

Wayne Bergeron was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He grew up in Los Angeles. His first instrument was the French horn. However, he switched to the trumpet when he was a teenager. This happened because his French horn got broken!

In 1986, Wayne became the lead trumpet player for Maynard Ferguson's band. He has played on recordings for many famous artists. These include Neil Diamond and Rosemary Clooney. He also contributed to the music for popular movies. Some of these movies are Despicable Me, Frozen, Superman Returns, and Toy Story 3.

Playing with Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band

Wayne Bergeron has been the lead trumpet player for Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band since it started. This band is very popular for its modern big band jazz music. Two special songs were written just for him to play solos. These songs are "Horn of Puente" and "Years of Therapy."

Wayne Bergeron has also released his own music as a solo artist. His first album was called You Call This a Living? and came out in 2002. It featured other great musicians like Peter Erskine and Eric Marienthal.

His next album, Plays Well with Others, was released in 2007. This album was very popular and was even nominated for a Grammy Award. It included a special song called "Maynard & Waynard." This song featured Maynard Ferguson in one of his last performances.

In 2013, Wayne Bergeron even designed his own special trumpet mouthpieces. These are parts of the trumpet that musicians blow into.
