History of Winchester

Winchester was named after Winchester, Virginia. It has a long history in Kentucky.

Geography and Climate

Winchester is in the middle of Clark County. It is about 18 miles east of Lexington. It is also 15 miles west of Mt. Sterling. Major roads like U.S. Route 60 run through the city. Interstate 64 also passes by the northern part of Winchester.
