Yoho Ahoy was a fun British animated TV show for kids. It was about a group of unique pirates called Yohos. They lived on their pirate ship, which they named The Rubber Duck.
The show's name, "Yoho Ahoy," comes from the only words the main characters say. They use "Yoho" and "Ahoy" to show how they are feeling. The characters in the show are animated puppets.
In 2001, Yoho Ahoy won a special award called the Banff Television Festival Rockie Award. It won for "Best Animation" for its episode "Yoho Ahoy: Buzz with Jones." The show first aired in the United Kingdom on CBBC and later on CBeebies. In Canada, you could watch it on Knowledge Network.

Meet the Characters
The Main Crew
- Bilge - He's the dark blue captain of the ship. Bilge is very bossy and often shouts a lot.
- Cutlass - This yellow character helps pull up the ship's anchor. Cutlass is best friends with Grog.
- Swab - The ship's purple first mate. Swab wears a cool circular ring on each ear.
- Poop - The ship's yellow and lazy cabin cleaner. Poop always wears a blue hat with yellow spots.
- Jones - The ship's green engineer. Jones takes his job very seriously.
- Grog - The ship's green chef. Grog wears a green hat with yellow spots.
- Plank - The ship's yellow deck scrubber. Plank looks exactly like Cutlass!
- Plunder - This purple character also helps pull up the anchor. Plunder looks just like Swab.
- Booty - The ship's beige pianist. Booty is the owner of Flamingo.
Other Friends (and Trouble-Makers!)
- Flamingo - The only flamingo on The Rubber Duck. Flamingo is Booty's pet. This bird loves to cause mischief! Flamingo often takes things from the Yohos without them even noticing. Flamingo communicates by squawking.
- The Sun - You never actually see the Sun in the show. But during the day, you can see The Rubber Duck floating on the big, open sea. This happens at the start and end of most episodes.
- Parrot - A green and purple parrot with yellow eyes. Parrot only appears in a few episodes, like Bell with Parrot. Parrot often flies around The Rubber Duck, sometimes causing a bit of chaos. Even though Parrot is a small character, he sometimes squawks like Flamingo. Just like the Yohos, Parrot also says "Yoho" and "Ahoy."
- The Rats - Pink and blue rats who pop up in surprising places on The Rubber Duck. They make squeaky sounds to talk. The rats often cause trouble and are usually followed by Cat.
- The Moon - A blue moon that doesn't talk. It appears at the beginning and end of some episodes, like Lullaby With Booty. At night, the moon shines in the dark sky next to The Rubber Duck, with purple clouds and shiny stars.
- Cat - The only male ginger cat on the ship. Cat loves to chase the rats whenever he sees them. Just like real cats, Cat communicates by mewing.
- Crow - The only crow on the ship. Crow is often seen looking out for the Yohos, even though he doesn't look like a real crow.
