Sean Lee Bowie (born February 14, 1990), known as Yves Tumor, is an American musician and music maker. They create unique and experimental music. Yves Tumor was born in Miami, Florida, U.S., and now lives in Turin, Italy.
So far, they have released five studio albums. These include When Man Fails You (2015) and Serpent Music (2016). Other albums are Safe in the Hands of Love (2018), Heaven to a Tortured Mind (2020), and Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) (2023).

Life and Music Journey
Yves Tumor grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. They started making music at age 16. It was a way to express themselves and escape their quiet hometown. Yves Tumor taught themselves to play instruments. They play drums, bass, guitar, and keyboards.
When they were 20, Yves Tumor moved to San Diego. After college, they moved to Los Angeles. In 2012, they met another artist named Mykki Blanco. They then toured together for two and a half years. They performed in Europe and Asia.
In the early 2010s, Yves Tumor made music under the name Teams. In 2015, they started the Yves Tumor project. They released their first album, When Man Fails You, that same year.
In September 2016, Yves Tumor joined PAN Records. They released their album Serpent Music with this label. Yves Tumor worked on this album for three years. They recorded it in different cities like Miami, Leipzig, Los Angeles, and Berlin. Critics said their music used interesting sounds and rhythms. It created a feeling of being lost in a strange city.
In 2017, Yves Tumor released a free album called Experiencing the Deposit of Faith. Soon after, they announced they had signed with Warp Records. This led to a new tour with a special show that included visuals and music.
In September 2018, Yves Tumor released their Warp Records album, Safe in the Hands of Love. This album was released without much warning. It included popular songs like "Noid" and "Licking an Orchid." Music critics really loved this album. They said it was a huge step forward for the artist.
Yves Tumor's fourth album, Heaven to a Tortured Mind, came out on April 3, 2020. It featured the song "Kerosene" with Diana Gordon. A reviewer from The Guardian called it "extraordinary." They noted how it mixed many styles but still sounded connected.
In 2021, Yves Tumor released an EP (Extended Play) called The Asymptotical World. They worked on it with their bandmates, Chris Greatti and Yves Rothman. In 2022, Yves Tumor went on a big international tour.
In March 2023, Yves Tumor released their fifth album. It was called Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds). This album was praised for mixing rock and R&B music. It was described as "spellbinding art rock." Yves Tumor also performed at the Coachella 2023 music festival.

Yves Tumor's early music was compared to artists like Dean Blunt and James Ferraro. They even worked with James Ferraro. More recently, their music, especially on Heaven to a Tortured Mind, has been compared to famous artists like Prince and David Bowie.
Yves Tumor has said that Throbbing Gristle was a big influence. They liked the "hypnotic trance vibes" in their music. They also became interested in Genesis P-Orridge and that music movement.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Yves Tumor explored other hobbies. They became very interested in designing furniture. They also learned about upholstery, which is covering furniture with fabric. They said they wanted to build chairs, couches, and stools.
