Zakaria Mohieddin (Arabic: زكريا محيي الدين; 5 July 1918 – 15 May 2012) was an important Egyptian military officer and politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Egypt and was also the first head of Egypt's intelligence agency.

Early Life and Military Career
Zakaria Mohieddin joined the Military College in 1938. He later graduated from the Staff College in 1948. From 1940 to 1943, and again from 1950 to 1951, he taught military tactics. He also taught at the Officers Staff College from 1951 to 1952.
Mohieddin served in the Egyptian army in Sudan. In 1948, he was a chief of staff during the 1947–1949 Palestine war. He showed great bravery by going back to his besieged brigade. For his courage, he received the Mehmet Ali golden award. In 1952, he helped plan and lead a successful army operation.
Political Roles and Public Service
Zakaria Mohieddin held many important positions in the Egyptian government. He was a key member of the Egyptian Revolutionary Command Council from 1952 to 1956. This group played a big role in Egypt's history.
He was also in charge of the first intelligence agency in Egypt. This agency is called the Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate. He led it from 1952 to 1955.

Mohieddin represented Egypt at several international conferences:
- He was part of the Egyptian group at the United Nations in 1960.
- He attended the African conference in Addis Ababa in 1964.
- He was at the Arab conference in Casablanca in 1965.
- He also attended the Bandong conference in 1965.
- He signed the Nile treaty with Sudan.
Later Life and Legacy
In 1967, after Egypt's defeat in the Six-Day War, President Gamal Abdel Nasser offered Mohieddin the position of president. However, Mohieddin refused this offer. In 1968, he left all his government roles and retired from public life.
Zakaria Mohieddin passed away on May 15, 2012, at the age of 93. His funeral was held at a mosque in Nasr City, Cairo. Many important military and political figures attended to honor him.

Foreign Honors
- Poland: He received the Grand Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 1965.
- Malaysia: He was given the Honorary Grand Commander of the Order of the Defender of the Realm in 1965, which comes with the title Tun.
