Étoy is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Vaud, which is like a state, and is part of the Morges district.

History of Étoy
Étoy was first mentioned in old writings in 1145. Back then, it was known as Stuie. Later, in 1228, its name changed slightly to Estue.
Geography and Location
Étoy covers an area of about 4.9 square kilometers (about 1.9 square miles). A large part of this land, around 67%, is used for farming. About 6.7% of the area is covered by forests. The rest of the land, about 26.5%, has buildings and roads.
The town is located in a region called La Côte. Étoy used to be part of the old Morges District. However, in 2006, it became part of the new Morges district.
