The 1930 Detroit Stars baseball team played in the Negro National League. They had a very successful year, winning 54 games and losing 41. The team even had an amazing 24-game winning streak in July and August! They won the second half of their league championship but lost to the St. Louis Stars in a special series called the "Negro World Series."
The team was owned by John A. Roesink and led by their player-manager, Bingo DeMoss. The Stars played their home games at Hamtramck Stadium in Hamtramck, Michigan. Even though the team was good, they had some challenges with their owner, which affected how many people came to watch their games.
