Ace Wilder's Music Career
Starting Out: 2013–2015
For several years, Ace Wilder sang and danced for other international singers on their world tours. In 2012, she decided to start her own solo singing career. She signed record deals with EMI Records and Warner Music.
She released her first single, "Do It," which was later used in American TV shows. In 2013, she released another song called "... Like Fridays". At the end of 2013, Ace Wilder's first album, A Wilder, won "Best Music Album of the Year" at the Scandipop Awards.
Her big breakthrough in Swedish music happened when she joined Melodifestivalen 2014. This is a big music contest in Sweden. Ace Wilder made it to the final on March 8, performing her song "Busy Doin' Nothin'". She came in second place, just two points behind the winner, Sanna Nielsen. Her song then became number one on the Swedish singles chart and stayed there for three weeks!
Ace released her next song, "Riot," in November 2014. Then, "Stupid" came out in March 2015. Both of these songs were on her second music collection, called "The Wild Card," which was released in June 2015. Ace then went on tour around Sweden, performing at festivals and events that summer.
More Melodifestivalen and New Music: 2015–Present
In November 2015, it was announced that Ace Wilder would compete in Melodifestivalen 2016. Her song was "Don't Worry". She went straight to the final, along with Robin Bengtsson. In the final, she finished third overall.
In June 2016, Ace released a new song called "Selfish." She said the song was like "a diary entry" because the words were very personal. She performed the song on Swedish TV shows like "Lotta På Liseberg" and "Nyhetsmorgon" that summer. Ace Wilder also joined the 2016 Diggiloo tour, performing with many famous Swedish artists.
On November 30, 2016, Ace Wilder was announced as one of the 28 acts for Melodifestivalen 2017. Her song was "Wild Child". She again qualified directly for the final from her semi-final. In the final, she placed seventh.
In June 2017, Ace Wilder released a cover of the 1987 hit song "Dansa i neon" by Lena Philipsson. She did this with "Svenska Spel" to promote special scratch cards that Ace herself designed.
In 2018, she took part in a TV show called Stjärnornas stjärna on TV4. In this show, artists sing songs from different music styles. Ace sang a country song by Shania Twain and a Latin song by Gloria Estefan. She was the first person to be eliminated from the show.
In April 2018, Ace started her own blog about vintage clothing called "Wilder Wintage." Ace Wilder returned to Melodifestivalen in 2019 and 2020, but this time as a stylist for another artist, Malou Prytz. In an interview during the 2019 contest, Ace confirmed she was taking a break from music. She said she felt "burnt out" and "uninspired." She also said that her break was not forever and that she would "do music again at some point." She even said she was interested in returning to Melodifestivalen as a main artist for a fourth time.
In 2019, Ace Wilder appeared in a Swedish film called A Music Story. The movie was about an 11-year-old who dreamed of being on a kids' talent show, but her musician father didn't want her to because of his own past. Ace sang two songs on the movie's soundtrack: "Born To Be Free" and "Like an American Idol." She also had a small role in the film.
In February 2025, Ace Wilder opened the fourth heat of Melodifestivalen 2025 in Malmö. She performed "Busy Doin' Nothin'" with the show's hosts, Keyyo and Edvin Törnblom.
