Alice Kristina Ingrid Gernandt (born on July 23, 1982), known as Ace Wilder, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She became famous after joining Melodifestivalen 2014, a big music contest in Sweden.

Early life

Ace Wilder was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 23, 1982. She lived in many different places around the world while growing up. For a long time, she lived in Miami, Florida in the United States. Her great-uncle is Anders Gernandt, a well-known radio person.

Career

Becoming Famous (2013–2015)

Before becoming a solo artist, Ace Wilder spent several years singing and dancing for other international singers on their world tours. In 2012, she decided to start her own music career. She signed record deals with EMI Records and Warner Music.

She released her song "Do It," which was later used in American TV shows. In late 2013, her first album, A Wilder, won "Best Music Album of the Year" at the Scandipop Awards.

Ace Wilder became very well known in Sweden after she took part in Melodifestivalen 2014. She reached the final on March 8 with her song "Busy Doin' Nothin'". She finished second in the final, just two points behind the winner. Her song "Busy Doin' Nothin'" became a number-one hit on the Swedish music charts for three weeks.

After this, she released more songs like "Riot" in November 2014 and "Stupid" in March 2015. These songs were part of her second music collection, called "The Wild Card," which came out in June 2015. Ace then toured around Sweden to share her new music at different festivals and events.

More Melodifestivalen and New Music (2015–present)

In November 2015, it was announced that Ace Wilder would compete in Melodifestivalen 2016 with her song "Don't Worry". She went straight to the final and finished third overall.

In June 2016, Ace released a new song called "Selfish." She said the song was like a "diary entry" because the lyrics were very personal to her. She performed the song on Swedish TV shows. Ace also joined the 2016 Diggiloo tour, performing with many famous Swedish artists.

On November 30, 2016, Ace Wilder was chosen to compete in Melodifestivalen 2017 with her song "Wild Child". She again went directly to the final and finished seventh.

In June 2017, Ace Wilder released her version of "Dansa i neon", a popular song from 1987. She did this in partnership with "Svenska Spel" to promote special scratch cards that she helped design.

In 2018, she took part in a TV show called Stjärnornas stjärna. She sang country music and Latin music songs. She was the first person to be eliminated from the show after two weeks.

In April 2018, Ace started a blog about vintage clothing called "Wilder Wintage." She also worked as a stylist for another artist, Malou Prytz, at Melodifestivalen 2019 and Melodifestivalen 2020. In an interview in 2019, Ace said she was taking a break from music because she felt "burnt out" and "uninspired." She said it wasn't a permanent break and that she would make music again in the future. She also said she would like to return to Melodifestivalen as a singer for a fourth time.

In 2019, Ace Wilder appeared in a Swedish film called A Music Story. The movie is about an 11-year-old who dreams of being on a kids' talent show. Ace sang two songs on the film's soundtrack, "Born To Be Free" and "Like an American Idol," and had a small role in the movie.
