Alex Moffat (born March 25, 1982) is an American actor and comedian. He is well-known for being a cast member on the TV show Saturday Night Live. He was on the show from 2016 to 2022. In 2023, Alex also started performing on Broadway, which is a big step for actors.

Early Life and Education
Alex Moffat grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He finished high school at North Shore Country Day School in 2000. After that, he went to Denison University and graduated in 2004.
Starting His Comedy Journey
Alex began his comedy career in Chicago. He performed at famous comedy clubs like The Second City, ImprovOlympic, and Annoyance Theatre. These places are known for teaching and showing off new comedy talent. In 2015, he acted in an independent movie called Uncle John. The next year, in 2016, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live.
His Time on Saturday Night Live
Alex Moffat first appeared on Saturday Night Live on October 1, 2016. This was during the show's 42nd season. He joined with other new cast members, Mikey Day and Melissa Villaseñor. Alex had tried out for the show for three years before finally getting hired. He became a main cast member in 2018.
One of his notable moments was playing Joe Biden in December 2020. He took over the role from actor Jim Carrey. Alex left Saturday Night Live in 2022 after being on the show for six years. He has made guest appearances since then, including in the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special.
