Alex Moffat (born March 25, 1982) is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for being a cast member on the TV show Saturday Night Live (SNL). He joined SNL in 2016 and became a main cast member in 2018. Alex Moffat left SNL in 2022 after six years. In 2023, he performed on Broadway for the first time in a play called The Cottage.

Early Life and Education
Alex Moffat was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He finished high school in 2000. After that, he went to Denison University and graduated in 2004.
Comedy Career
Moffat started his comedy journey in Chicago. He performed at famous comedy clubs like The Second City and ImprovOlympic. In 2015, he acted in an independent movie called Uncle John. In 2016, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live.
Being on Saturday Night Live
Alex Moffat first appeared on Saturday Night Live on October 1, 2016. He joined with Mikey Day and Melissa Villaseñor. He had tried out for the show for three years before finally getting hired. He became a main cast member in 2018.
On December 19, 2020, Moffat played President-elect Joe Biden on the show. He took over the role from actor Jim Carrey. Alex Moffat left SNL in 2022 after being on the show for six years.
