Allium neriniflorum is a type of wild onion. This plant is found in parts of Asia, including Mongolia, a region of Siberia called Zabaykalsky Krai, and northern China. In China, you can find it in areas like Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning.

About Allium neriniflorum

This interesting plant grows in many different places. You can find it on sandy areas near the coast, in wet meadows, and on hillsides. It can grow at high elevations, sometimes up to 2,000 meters (about 6,500 feet) above sea level.

What Does It Look Like?

Allium neriniflorum grows from a single bulb. This bulb is usually round or shaped like an egg. It can be up to 2 centimeters (about 0.8 inches) wide.

The plant has a main stem, called a scape, which can grow quite tall. It can reach up to 50 centimeters (about 20 inches) in height.

Its leaves are also interesting. They are round when you look at them in cross-section, and they are hollow inside. The leaves are usually about the same length as the main stem.

Its Flowers

The flowers of Allium neriniflorum grow in clusters called Umbels. Each cluster usually has only a few flowers. These flowers are often red or a reddish-purple color. Sometimes, you might even see white flowers on this plant.
