AlphaPets facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Alphapets is a cool series of books for kids that came out in the early 1990s. These books were created by Ruth Lerner Perle, Deborah Colvin Borgo, Judy Blankenship, and Richard Max Kolding. They are a bit like the Sweet Pickles books. In the Alphapets series, each letter of the alphabet has its own book. And guess what? An animal represents each letter!

Every story in the series is packed with words and objects that start with the special letter of that book. For example, if it's the 'J' book, you'll find lots of 'J' words. At the end of each book, there's a special page with words. This helps readers practice finding letters and words.

Each story usually follows a similar pattern. The animal characters each have a unique personality trait. This trait helps build the story and teaches the reader a lesson. For instance, in Justin's Just Joking, Justin loves to play jokes on his friends, which makes them sad. By the end of the book, his friends play a joke on him. This helps Justin understand how his jokes made others feel. These books are great for young readers, usually from Preschool up to 3rd grade.
