Every leap year, Anthony, Texas, and Anthony, New Mexico, hold a special celebration. They have a parade and a festival for people born on Leap Day.
Why Anthony is the Leap Year Capital

The governors of New Mexico and Texas supported this idea. A United States Senator even asked Congress to make it official. In 1996, the Anthony, New Mexico, post office became "Leap Year Station." They even have a special stamp for mail on Leap Day. The mayor of Anthony, Texas, helps organize the festival and parade.
