Antonio Fuoco, born on May 20, 1996, is an Italian race car driver. He currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Ferrari AF Corse. He drives the powerful Ferrari 499P car. Antonio also works as a special development driver for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team. This means he helps test and improve their F1 cars.

Antonio Fuoco's Racing Journey
Antonio Fuoco started racing at a very young age. He has competed in many different types of racing cars.
Early Days in Karting
Antonio was born in Cariati, Italy. He began karting when he was only four years old. Karting is like mini-car racing and is often where future champions start. He raced in many European championships. By 2012, he was competing in the KF2 category. He finished third in one big series and fourth in another.
Racing in Formula Renault
In 2013, Antonio moved up to single-seater racing. These cars have open wheels, unlike regular cars. He joined the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps series. Antonio had a fantastic year, winning six races. He also finished on the podium (top three) eleven times. This helped him win the championship that year!
Moving to Formula Three
In 2014, Antonio joined the FIA European Formula Three Championship. He continued to show his talent. He won two races and earned ten podium finishes. He ended the season in fifth place overall.
Competing in GP3 Series
Antonio then moved to the GP3 Series in 2015. He had some good races, getting two podiums. In 2016, he switched teams to Trident. This was a great move for him. He won his first races in GP3 and finished third in the championship.
Driving in FIA Formula 2
In 2017, Antonio stepped up to the FIA Formula 2 Championship. This series is a step below Formula One. He raced for Prema and even teamed up with future F1 star Charles Leclerc. Antonio won one race and had five podium finishes. In 2018, he won two more races and got six podiums.
Exploring Formula E
In 2018, Antonio also got a chance to try FIA Formula E. This is a racing series for electric cars. He was a reserve and test driver for the GEOX Dragon team. He even set the third-fastest time in a special rookie test.
His Role in Formula One
Antonio had his first taste of a Formula One car in 2015. He took part in a test session for Ferrari. In 2019, he became part of Ferrari's F1 simulator team. This means he helps test and develop the F1 cars using a special simulator. He has also taken part in young driver tests for Ferrari in 2020, 2021, and 2024.
Success in Hypercar Racing
For the 2023 season, Antonio joined Ferrari AF Corse in the Le Mans Hypercar category. This is a top class of endurance racing. He races the Ferrari 499P with his teammates Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen. In 2023, he helped Ferrari get their first pole position in the FIA World Endurance Championship. In 2024, Antonio and his teammates achieved a huge victory. They won the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race in the Hypercar category! This is one of the most important endurance races in the world.
