Arcade is a town located in Wyoming County, New York, United States. It's a place where about 4,220 people lived according to the 2020 census.
Inside the larger Town of Arcade, there's also a smaller village that shares the same name: Arcade. This town is found in the southwestern part of Wyoming County.

History of Arcade Town
The Town of Arcade was first created in 1807. It was originally called the "Town of China." The name was changed to Arcade in 1866. Before that, this area was part of another town called Sheldon.
Trains and Historic Places
The Arcade and Attica Railroad is a special part of Arcade's history. It still moves goods (freight) along its tracks. You can also take fun trips on passenger trains that are pulled by old-fashioned steam locomotives.
A place called the Arcade Center Farm is also important. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. This means it's a special building or area that is worth protecting because of its history.
Geography of Arcade
Arcade is located in a unique spot. The southern border of the town touches Cattaraugus County. To the west, the town shares a border with Erie County.
Land and Water
The town covers a total area of about 47.2 square miles (122.2 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 47.1 square miles (121.9 square kilometers), is land. Only a small part, about 0.1 square mile (0.3 square kilometers), is water.
Cattaraugus Creek is a stream that flows through the town. It runs southwards and goes through Arcade village.
Roads and Routes
Two main roads help people travel through Arcade. New York State Route 39 goes from west to east across the town. New York State Route 98 runs from north to south.

- Daniel F. Bakeman – He was the very last person to receive a special payment (veteran's pension) for serving in the American Revolutionary War.
- Paul Evans – A well-known former college basketball coach. He coached teams at Navy and Pittsburgh.
- Fran Striker – He was the person who created and wrote the famous The Lone Ranger radio and television shows. He had a summer home in Arcade and is buried in the Arcade Rural Cemetery.
