Ardingly (/ˈɑːrdɪŋlaɪ/ AR-ding-lye) is a village in West Sussex, England. It is located in the Mid Sussex District and is known as a civil parish. The village is part of the beautiful High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Ardingly is about 53 kilometers (33 miles) south of London. It is also about 53 kilometers (33 miles) east-north-east of Chichester, which is the main town of the county. The parish covers an area of about 16 square kilometers (3,974 acres). In 2011, about 1,936 people lived in Ardingly. This was a small increase from 1,833 people in 2001.

Ardingly has a long history. A place called Ertlyngeleghe was mentioned in records from 1396. This might have been an early name for Ardingly.
Old Buildings and Gardens
The St Peter's parish church is a very old building. It is located at the western end of the village and was built in the 14th century.
Just a short distance north of Ardingly is Wakehurst. This amazing place is part of the Kew Gardens. It is like a huge wild garden where you can see many different plants.
Lakes and Rocks
About 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) west of the village is Ardingly Reservoir. This is a large lake that is a great spot for nature and water activities.
If you like exploring, you can find a cool rock formation called Big-Upon-Little. It is near a walking path between Ardingly and West Hoathly.

South of England Show
Every June, the South of England Show takes place. This is a very popular event that attracts people from all over. It's a chance to see animals, farming displays, and lots of fun activities.
London to Brighton Events
The London to Brighton cycle event also passes through Ardingly. This exciting bike ride usually happens on Father's Day.
The South of England Showground, where these events are held, also hosts regular antiques fairs. Some of these fairs have even been shown on the BBC Television show Bargain Hunt.
Scout Camps
Every four years, a large international Scout camp is held at the showground. About 3,000 Scouts and Girl Guides from West Sussex and other places come together for this event. The last camp, WS 2017, was in August 2017.

- Frances Garnet Wolseley, 2nd Viscountess Wolseley was a famous gardener and writer. She moved to Ardingly in 1920 and lived there until she passed away in 1936.
