Arkadiusz Krystian Milik (born February 28, 1994) is a professional footballer from Poland. He plays as a striker for the Italian club Juventus and for the Poland national team.
Milik started his football journey in the youth team of Rozwój Katowice. In 2011, he joined Górnik Zabrze. A year later, he moved to Bayer Leverkusen. He also played on loan for FC Augsburg and Ajax. In 2015, Ajax bought him permanently. He became one of the top goalscorers in the Eredivisie, the Dutch league.
In 2016, Milik moved to the Italian club Napoli. He later joined the French club Marseille on loan in 2021.
Milik has also played for Poland in big international tournaments. He was part of the team that reached the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2016. He also played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Early Life
A football coach named Sławomir "Moki" Mogilan noticed Milik's talent when he was young. He helped Milik improve his skills and become more professional. When Milik was 16, English clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Reading invited him for trials. However, he decided to stay in Poland to focus on his football development there.
Club Career
Starting Out in Poland
Milik began his career in the youth team of Rozwój Katowice. He played for their reserve team in the 2009–10 season. On October 23, 2010, at just 16 years old, he scored two goals in his first senior game for Rozwój Katowice. He finished that season with ten appearances and four goals.
On July 1, 2011, Milik signed a one-year contract with Górnik Zabrze. He made his debut in Poland's top league, the Ekstraklasa, on July 31. He played 38 games for Górnik Zabrze and scored 11 goals.
Moving to Germany
On December 17, 2012, Bayer Leverkusen from Germany's Bundesliga signed Milik. He signed a contract until 2018. However, Milik did not play much for Leverkusen, appearing in only 6 games.
On August 30, 2013, Milik was loaned to FC Augsburg for one year. He played 18 matches for Augsburg and scored 2 goals. One of his goals was an important equalizer in the 88th minute against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Success in the Netherlands
On May 15, 2014, Milik was loaned to the Dutch champions Ajax. Ajax also had an option to buy him permanently.
In his first season, on September 24, 2014, Milik played in a special match for Ajax. He scored six goals and helped with two others in a 9–0 win in the KNVB Cup. On December 10, 2014, he scored his first goal in the UEFA Champions League. On April 1, 2015, Ajax decided to buy Milik permanently.
For the 2015–16 season, Milik became Ajax's number 9 striker. He scored his first goal of the season in a Champions League qualifier. He also scored his first league goal against Willem II. Milik had a great season, scoring many goals for Ajax in the Eredivisie and in European competitions. He scored two goals against Roda JC and two more against AZ.
Italian Adventures with Napoli
Milik joined Napoli in Italy on August 1, 2016. The transfer fee was about €35 million. He made his debut on August 27, scoring two goals in a 4–2 win against Milan. He scored two more goals against Dynamo Kyiv and Bologna in September.
However, Milik suffered a serious knee injury in October 2016. He tore a ligament and was expected to be out for a long time. He returned to play in February 2017. In September 2017, he injured his other knee. He worked hard to recover and was cleared to train again in January 2018.

In the 2020 Coppa Italia final, Milik scored the winning penalty kick. This helped Napoli win the trophy against Juventus. For the 2020–21 season, Milik was not included in Napoli's official squads. This was because he decided not to extend his contract.
French Football with Marseille
On January 21, 2021, Milik joined the French club Marseille on an 18-month loan. He made his debut two days later. On October 17, 2021, he scored his 10th goal for Marseille. This made him one of the most efficient goalscorers for the club in many years.
In December 2021, he scored three goals in a single game against Cannet Rocheville. This helped Marseille reach the next round of the Coupe de France. He scored another hat-trick in February 2022 against Angers SCO. He also scored two goals in a Europa Conference League match.
Joining Juventus
On August 26, 2022, Juventus announced that Milik had joined them on loan from Marseille. He was the third Polish player to play for Juventus. On August 31, he scored his first goal for Juventus.
On June 21, 2023, Juventus signed Milik permanently. On January 11, 2024, he scored three goals in a 4–0 win against Frosinone. This helped Juventus reach the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia. On April 23, 2024, he scored the winning goal against Lazio. This secured Juventus a spot in the Coppa Italia final, which they later won.
International Career
Early International Steps
Milik scored a goal for the Poland under-17 team in April 2011. In July 2011, he was called up to the under-19 team.
On October 12, 2012, Milik played his first game for the Polish senior team. On December 14, he scored his first goal for the national team in a friendly match. He also scored many goals for the Poland under-21 team.
Playing in Major Tournaments
On October 11, 2014, Milik scored the first goal in a 2–0 win against Germany. This was Poland's first-ever win against Germany. Milik and Robert Lewandowski formed a strong partnership during the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
In UEFA Euro 2016, Milik scored Poland's winning goal in their first game against Northern Ireland. Poland reached the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Milik also played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Poland was eliminated in the group stage. He was also selected for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Poland reached the round of 16 in that tournament.
Sadly, Milik suffered a knee injury in June 2024. This injury meant he could not play in UEFA Euro 2024.
How He Plays
Milik usually plays as a main striker. He is a skilled left-footed player who can score goals and create chances for others. He is fast and moves well without the ball. He has a powerful and accurate shot, making him a great goalscorer. He is also physically strong and good at heading the ball. People in Poland often compare his playing style to his teammate Robert Lewandowski. When he was younger, he was seen as a very promising striker.
Off the Field
In 2013, Milik started a relationship with Polish model Jessica Ziółek. They were together for almost eight years before their relationship ended in late 2020. Milik is now in a relationship with Agata Sieramska.
Milik was featured on the cover of the Polish version of the video game FIFA 16, alongside Lionel Messi.
Growing up, Milik was a fan of Manchester United. He once said he dreamed of playing for them. His childhood football hero is Cristiano Ronaldo. Milik has said that Ronaldo inspired him a lot.
