Malus spectabilis (Chinese: 海棠; pinyin: hǎitáng) is a beautiful tree often called the Chinese flowering apple. It's also known as the Asiatic apple or Chinese crab. In China, people call it HaiTang. This tree is a type of crabapple.

It grows naturally only in China. You can find it in many Chinese provinces like Hebei, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Shandong, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Zhejiang.
