Asseco Poland SA is a big Polish software company. It creates computer programs mainly for banks and other financial businesses. The company was started in 1991. Its main offices are in Rzeszów, Poland.
Asseco is one of the largest technology companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. This is like a big market where parts of companies (called shares) are bought and sold. History of Asseco
Asseco began as a company called COMP Rzeszów in 1991. It was founded by Adam Goral. At first, it started as a small factory. But Mr. Goral decided to focus on making computer programs. This part of the business soon became the most important.
Becoming an International Company
The company became international in 2004. This happened when it bought a company from Slovakia called Asset Soft. After this, the company changed its name to Asseco. Asseco kept growing by buying other companies. They bought Polish software companies like Softbank and Prokom.
In 2010, Asseco started to expand outside of Eastern Europe. They bought an Israeli software company called Formula Systems. Since then, Asseco has grown to work in over 50 countries.
Recent Growth and Partnerships
In 2015, Asseco bought a Portuguese company named Exictos SGPS. This company worked in Portugal and African countries where Portuguese is spoken. These included Angola, Mozambique, and Cape Verde.
In 2017, Asseco created a new part of the company called Asseco International. This new group helps manage and support all of Asseco's companies that work in other countries.
In 2019, Asseco bought a big part of a Spanish IT company called Tecsisa. Tecsisa makes programs for the energy sector. Asseco also bought a company called ComCERT. This company helps protect computers from cyber attacks, which is called cybersecurity.
In 2020, Asseco started working in the German banking market. They created a new company called Adesso Banking Solutions GmbH. This was done with a German company called Adesso. In the same year, Asseco was ranked 55th among the biggest companies in Central and Eastern Europe. This ranking was made by Coface.
In 2021, a part of Asseco called Asseco PST bought most of a Portuguese company named Finantech. Finantech makes software for capital markets. These are places where money is invested.
In 2022, another part of Asseco, Asseco Data Systems, bought most of a company called Pirios. Pirios is based in Kraków, Poland. It helps businesses automate their customer services.
