The Audi Cup is a special football tournament that happens every two years. It's like a mini-championship held before the main football season starts. Four different football teams play against each other in Munich, Germany. The famous German club Bayern Munich hosts this exciting event at their home stadium, the Allianz Arena.
This tournament has been held every two years since 2009, except for 2021 and 2023. It usually takes place when there isn't a big international tournament like the FIFA World Cup or UEFA Euro. Even though teams play hard to win, the Audi Cup is considered a friendly tournament and doesn't count as a formal trophy in the football world.

History of the Audi Cup
How the Tournament Started
The very first Audi Cup was held in 2009. It was created by the car company Audi to celebrate their 100th birthday! The host team, Bayern Munich, won that first tournament. The Audi Cup took the place of another tournament called the Franz Beckenbauer Cup, which was held in some years before.
Past Winners and Exciting Matches
The second Audi Cup happened in 2011, and the Spanish team Barcelona won it. After that, Bayern Munich won the next two tournaments. They beat Manchester City 2–1 in the 2013 final. Then, in 2015, they won against Real Madrid with a score of 1–0.
In 2017, Atlético Madrid from Spain won the cup. They had a tough match against Liverpool that ended in a 1–1 draw. Atlético Madrid won after a penalty shootout. The most recent Audi Cup was in 2019. Tottenham Hotspur from England won their first Audi Cup. They also won in a penalty shootout against Bayern Munich after the game was tied 2–2.
