Bermuda Dunes is a community in Riverside County, California. In 2010, about 7,282 people lived there. It is located about 19 miles (31 km) east of Palm Springs. Bermuda Dunes is in the middle of the Coachella Valley. It sits between the cities of Palm Desert, La Quinta, and Indio.

Bermuda Dunes used to be called Myoma. The Bermuda Dunes Country Club was built in 1958. It was created by Ernie Dunlevie and Ray Ryan. Famous people like Clark Gable were members there. The community also has the Bermuda Dunes Airport, which is for smaller planes.

The community got its name from the Bermuda Dunes country club. This club is a golf course community designed by William Francis Bell. It first opened in 1962. It used to host the Bob Hope Chrysler Golf Classic golf tournament. There are 10 other golf clubs nearby, within 5-mile (8.0 km). One of these is Sun City Palm Desert. The Bermuda Dunes Airport is also found in this community.

Schools and Services

The local public schools are part of the Desert Sands Unified School District. There is one elementary school in Bermuda Dunes called James Monroe Elementary. Bermuda Dunes also has Desert Christian Academy. This is a private school for students from preschool all the way to 12th grade.
