Black Mountain, also called Mount Day, is a mountain in California. It is located in the eastern part of Santa Clara County. The mountain is about 10 miles (16 km) away from the city of Milpitas.
This peak is one of the tallest mountains in its area. You can see Black Mountain clearly from many places in the Santa Clara Valley. This includes cities like Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Mountain View, and San Jose. Other nearby peaks, like Mount Hamilton and Monument Peak, also offer great views of Black Mountain.

What Black Mountain Looks Like
The mountain has two different sides. The northern part of Black Mountain is covered with forests of oak trees. This area is called an oak woodland. The southern part of the mountain looks very different. It is mostly bare, with not many trees or plants growing there.

Black Mountain is found in Santa Clara County. This county is in the state of California, in the U.S.. It is east of two areas called Poverty Ridge and Arroyo Hondo.
