Calcio Lecco, often just called Lecco, is an Italian football team. They are based in the city of Lecco, which is in the Lombardy region of Italy. The club was started in 1912. Lecco has played in Italy's top football league, Serie A, three times. Their last time was in the 1966–67 season. They have also played twelve seasons in Serie B, which is the second-highest league. Lecco has won the Coppa Italia Semiprofessionisti in Italy and the Anglo-Italian Cup internationally.

The Story of Calcio Lecco
How Lecco Football Began (1912–1931)
On December 22, 1912, a football section was created within the Società Canottieri Lecco club. This club was originally for rowing and was founded in 1895. The football team chose blue and light blue as their colors, just like the rowing club's uniform. Their first office was on Francesco Nullo street.
Lecco's first football match was on April 13, 1913. They lost 4–1 to Milan. After that, they played in local friendly games and tournaments. Their first official tournament, approved by the FIGC, was in the 1920–21 Promozione season. They won their first game 6–2 against Olona on December 5, 1920. Lecco almost got promoted to Serie A that year, but a 0–0 draw kept them in Promozione.
In 1922, Eugenio Ceppi became the president of Canottieri. He offered his own land to build a new sports field, which later became the Stadio Rigamonti-Ceppi. The stadium opened on October 15. For the next ten years, Lecco's performance changed a lot. In 1926, they finished second in their league and were allowed to join the Prima Divisione. They stayed there for three years.
On July 22, 1931, the Canottieri club decided to stop its football section. This was because it cost too much money. To save the team, a group of members formed a new club called Associazione Calcio Lecco. Professor Gennaro Pensa became the first president. Mario Ceppi, Eugenio's son, was also an important member. The new club's first big decision was to cut costs. They let go of most players who were not from Lecco and replaced them with local players.
Recent Success and Promotion (2017–Present)
On June 9, 2017, Paolo Di Nunno bought the club. It was then renamed Calcio Lecco 1912. In the 2022–23 Serie C season, Lecco finished third in their league. This meant they could play in the national play-offs to try and get promoted.
Lecco won against Ancona, Pordenone, and Cesena. Then, they reached the final against Foggia. Lecco won the final 5–2 overall, with three goals scored by Franco Lepore. This victory meant they were promoted to Serie B for the first time in 50 years!
