Carly Rose Sonenclar (born April 20, 1999), also known as Carly Rose, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She became famous in December 2012. This was when she finished second on the TV show The X Factor USA.

About Carly Rose
Carly Rose Sonenclar was born in Westchester, New York. She now lives in Los Angeles, California. She started singing when she was only two years old. She would pretend to be the singers from American Idol. Carly took many classes. These included singing, dancing, piano, and acting. One of her teachers helped her find a talent agency. She also enjoys playing softball. Carly has an older brother named Russell. She loves taking piano lessons. She also likes to write her own songs.
Carly graduated from Rye Neck High School in 2017. In 2021, she earned a degree in music. This was from the University of Southern California. Carly is Jewish.
Carly's Acting Career
Carly Rose started acting professionally in 2006. Her first role was in a play called The Night of the Hunter. She played the main character, Pearl. In the same year, she made her first appearance on Broadway. This was in Les Miserables as Young Cosette.
In 2009, she went on a national tour. It was for the musical Little House on the Prairie, the Musical. She played the important role of Carrie. Carly also made her TV debut. She was Gilda Flip on PBS's The Electric Company.
In 2011, Carly played Chloe in the Broadway musical Wonderland. Critics praised her performance. The New York Times called her a great actress. The X Factor Journey
In 2012, Carly Rose tried out for The X Factor USA. She sang "Feeling Good". All four judges loved her performance. L.A. Reid said, "You may be 13, but your soul is old!" Simon Cowell gave her "4,833 yeses." She moved on to the next round.
At "Bootcamp," she sang "Pumped Up Kicks" with Beatrice Miller. She was one of only 60 acts to continue. She then performed for Britney Spears and will.i.am at "Judges' Houses." She sang "Brokenhearted". will.i.am said she was "possessed" by the music. Carly then made it to the live shows.
During the live shows, she sang many popular songs. These included "Good Feeling" and "It Will Rain". In week three, she sang "My Heart Will Go On". She finished second in the public vote. This happened again in week four. On November 21, she sang "Over the Rainbow". All four judges gave her a standing ovation. She also won the public vote that week. On November 28, she sang "Rolling in the Deep". She won the public vote again and moved to the quarter-final.
Carly made it to the final round. She sang "Feeling Good" again. She also sang "How Do I Live" with LeAnn Rimes. Her final song was "Hallelujah". On December 20, 2012, Carly finished second in the competition. Tate Stevens won first place.

Music After The X Factor
After The X Factor, Carly Rose continued her music journey. In June 2013, she performed her first original song, "Unforgettable." She also sang another song called "Fighters." The next month, she performed at the opening of the 19th Maccabiah Games in Jerusalem. In August 2013, she performed in Times Square in New York City.
In 2013, Carly appeared in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She has also performed with the band Boyce Avenue many times. In 2014, she released an original music video called "Everybody's Watching." She gave a concert in Pomona, New York, in July 2014. There, she sang three new songs: "Aliens," "Weekend," and "Everybody's Watching."
On June 19, 2019, Carly Rose released her first official single, "Birds & Bees." Since then, she has released many more singles. She also released an EP (a mini-album) with seven songs called "Wild." She made her first music video for "Wild" with singer Goody Grace. In 2022, she re-recorded her cover of Karmin's "Brokenhearted." This was the song she sang ten years earlier on The X Factor.
