Carly Rose Sonenclar, born on April 20, 1999, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known by her stage name, Carly Rose. In December 2012, she became the runner-up on the second season of The X Factor USA, a popular singing competition show.

About Carly Rose
Carly Rose Sonenclar was born in Westchester, New York. She now lives in Los Angeles, California. She started singing when she was only two years old. She would pretend to be the singers on the TV show American Idol.
Carly took many classes for singing, dancing, piano, and acting. One of her teachers helped her connect with a talent agency in New York City. This agency then signed her. She also enjoys playing softball. Carly has an older brother named Russell. She continues to take piano lessons and loves to write her own songs.
Carly Rose graduated from Rye Neck High School in 2017. In the spring of 2021, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in music. She studied at the University of Southern California. Carly Rose is also Jewish.
Carly Rose's Acting Career
Carly Rose began her professional acting journey in 2006. She performed in a play called The Night of the Hunter at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. In this play, she had the main role of Pearl. In the same year, she made her first appearance on Broadway. She played Young Cosette in the famous musical Les Miserables.
In 2009, Carly Rose joined a national tour of Little House on the Prairie, the Musical. She played the important role of Carrie. She also made her television debut on PBS. She played Gilda Flip in the third season of The Electric Company.
In 2011, Carly Rose created the role of Chloe in the Broadway musical Wonderland. Critics praised her performance. A reviewer from The New York Times called her an "almost preternaturally skilled singer." She was named the 2011 Best Young Performer by broadwayworld.com. Carly Rose also played the lead role of Parsley in The Big Bank. This musical premiered in October 2011.
Carly Rose has also appeared in two movies. She had a role in The Nanny Diaries and a small part in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. She has also been a guest on many TV shows.
Carly Rose's Singing Career
2012: The X Factor Journey
In 2012, Carly Rose auditioned for the second season of The X Factor USA. She sang the song "Feeling Good". All four judges gave her a standing ovation. Judge Simon Cowell even said she got "4,833 yeses." She moved on to the next round.
During the "Bootcamp" stage, she sang "Pumped Up Kicks" with Beatrice Miller. She was one of sixty acts chosen to continue. At the "Judges' Houses" stage, she performed "Brokenhearted" for her mentor, Britney Spears, and guest judge will.i.am. Both liked her performance.
Carly Rose then advanced to the live shows. She performed songs like "Good Feeling" and "It Will Rain". In the third week, she sang "My Heart Will Go On" and finished second in the public vote. She won the public vote in week four with "Over the Rainbow". She also won the public vote in week five with "Rolling in the Deep".
She made it to the quarter-final and then to the final. In the final, she sang "Feeling Good" again, "How Do I Live" with LeAnn Rimes, and "Hallelujah". On December 20, 2012, Carly Rose finished the competition in second place. Tate Stevens won the season.

2013–Present: New Music
After The X Factor, Carly Rose continued to work on music. In June 2013, she performed her first original song, "Unforgettable." She also sang another song called "Fighters." The next month, she performed at the opening ceremony of the 19th Maccabiah Games in Jerusalem. In August 2013, she performed in New York City.
In 2014, Carly Rose released an original music video called "Everybody's Watching." She also gave a concert where she performed three new songs: "Aliens," "Weekend," and "Everybody's Watching."
On June 19, 2019, Carly Rose released her first official single, "Birds & Bees." Since then, she has released many more singles. She also released an EP (Extended Play) with seven songs called "Wild." She worked with singer Goody Grace on the music video for "Wild." In 2022, she re-recorded her cover of Karmin's "Brokenhearted." This was the song she performed ten years earlier at the Judges' Houses on The X Factor.
