Charlene Lipsey (born July 16, 1991) is an American middle-distance runner. She is best known for running the 800 metres race. Charlene competed in the women's 800 metres at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics.

Becoming a Pro Runner
Charlene Lipsey became a professional runner in 2013. She signed with the sports company Adidas. For a few years, she trained at LSU.
Later, Lipsey moved to Philadelphia. There, she joined the Juventus Running Club. Her coach was Derek Thompson.
In September 2017, Charlene was honored in her hometown. The Mayor of Hempstead Village, Don Ryan, gave her a special "key to the village." This was to celebrate her achievements.
Setting Records
Charlene Lipsey helped Team USA set a new world indoor record. This happened on February 3, 2018, at the Millrose Games. The team ran the 4x800 meter relay in 8 minutes and 5.89 seconds. Her teammates were Chrishuna Williams, Raevyn Rogers, and Ajee' Wilson.
In 2018, Charlene won the Sir Walter Miler race. She finished the mile in 4 minutes and 27.28 seconds. Several other top runners also finished quickly in that race.
Major Competitions
Charlene Lipsey has represented the United States in big international events.
- In 2017, she competed at the World Championships in London, England. She placed 7th in the 800 meters.
- Also in 2017, she won a gold medal at the World Relays in Nassau, Bahamas. Her team won the 4 x 800 meters relay.

Charlene has competed many times at the USA National Track and Field Championships. These events help decide the best runners in the country.

College Career
Charlene Lipsey went to Louisiana State University. She ran for the LSU Tigers track and field team. During her time there, she was an 8-Time All-American. This means she was one of the best college athletes in the country many times. She also won three championships in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

- 2nd place in the 4 x 400 meters relay at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Charlene graduated from Louisiana State University in 2013.
