History of Crosspointe

Crosspointe was officially started on May 17, 1983. A company called the William Lyon Company owned the land. They created the Crosspointe Village Homeowners' Association. This group helps manage the community and provides services for the people living there. Over time, Crosspointe has grown into a nice suburb near Washington, D.C..

Crosspointe has many great places for residents to enjoy. The Crosspointe Community Center is a popular spot. You can even rent it for parties!

Parks and Outdoor Activities

Crosspointe is known for its many green spaces. There are about 11 miles of trails for walking, running, or biking.

  • The community is close to the Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton.
  • You can also find the Fairfax County Parkway Trail about a mile away.
  • The Lakeridge Marina Waterfront Trail is about 3 miles from Crosspointe.
  • The Bull Run Occoquan Trail is about 5 miles away.

Crosspointe also has Heron Pond, a great place for fishing. A stream called Giles Run starts at Heron Pond. It flows for 6 miles and ends at the Occoquan River in Mason Neck.

Pools and Sports Courts

Crosspointe has two swimming pools. One is next to the clubhouse, and the other is on Oak Chase Circle. There are also 8 tennis courts for playing sports.

Getting Around Crosspointe

Several main roads help people travel in and out of Crosspointe.

  • Virginia State Route 123 (Ox Road) is on the northeast side. It connects Crosspointe to Fairfax.
  • Virginia State Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) and Virginia State Route 620 (Braddock Road) are to the west.
  • These roads also link to Woodbridge, Interstate 95, and U.S. Route 1 to the east.
  • Virginia State Route 600 connects Crosspointe to Lorton and Lorton Road in the east.

Crosspointe is in the southeast part of Fairfax County. It's about 6 miles north of Woodbridge. It's also about 10 miles south of Fairfax.

Crosspointe covers a total area of about 5.75 square kilometers (2.22 square miles). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water. The community's edges are defined by Ox Road, Hooes Road, and South Run.
