What's in a Dagwood Sandwich?
The exact ingredients of the original Dagwood sandwich from the comic strip are a bit of a mystery. But it always looked like it had lots of different cold cuts, sliced cheese, and vegetables. These layers were separated by extra slices of bread.
Often, an olive on a toothpick or wooden skewer sat on top, like a crown! The name "Dagwood sandwich" is so famous that it's even in dictionaries like Webster's New World Dictionary.
Dagwood Sandwiches in the Real World
